NEW Castle Ward Biking Trails – Now Open!
Designed by cycling trail guru Dafydd Davis these stunning bike trails twist their way through the spectacular scenery of Castle Ward Estate, just 45 minutes from Belfast in Northern Ireland. There are cycling trails of varying difficulty and distance suitable for young families through to seasoned mountain bikers, so get pedalling!:
Shore Trail (1 mile loop) –
Ideal for young families and the less able, this wide trail is flat and smooth ideal for toddler trailers and trikes. The views are awesome also – Dickson Island, Audleys Castle, Portaferry, Lead Quay and the wildlife out on the Strangford Lough including seals if your lucky! Castle Ward
Farm Trail (2.5 mile loop) –
Mixture of wider trail and narrow single track this trail twists and turns along the shoreline and through meadows by Temple Water (this Castle Ward cycle trail is not suitable for toddler trailers and trikes due to narrow single track sections).
Boundary Trail (8 mile loop) –
A cross country mountain bike trail – superb tight twisting single track which swoops through the mixed woodlands and meadows of the wider Castle Ward Estate against the stunning backdrop of Strangford Lough.
